Take some time to journal and process the questions below, they’ll help you apply parenting principles that will set you up for success.
How is your child different than you — personality, approach, temperament? How are they like you?
Do you have a child or stepchild who is particularly difficult for you to relate to?
What does the uniqueness of each child contribute to the life and fun of your family circle?
As a parent, how well do you accept and esteem their differences vs. trying to make your child more like you?
In what ways is your own identity too wrapped up in your children? Explain.

Express yourself.
- In their search for identity and purpose, kids need their parents to guide them.
- God designed your child on purpose.
- We long for kids to not only accept how God has made them, but to praise Him for it, and honor him with that craftsmanship.
- Never seek to fulfill your own identity through your kids’ performance.
