Ron: Single parent dating is a different animal so, here’s another get smart tip.

Ron: Some believe that you shouldn’t date unless you’re open to marriage; others believe casual dating is okay. I believe either should be purposeful. For instance, don’t date a non-believer. Don’t open that door lest you find yourself intertwined with someone you would never marry. And, protect young children from forming an attachment with someone you’re not serious about. Kids under five bond fast and then they are hurt when that person is no longer around, so be careful.
And, finally, date with purity and balance consistent with how you taught your kids. Even empty nest parents need to model how to handle infatuation and put God at the center of their relationship. For FamilyLife Blended, I’m Ron Deal.
